5 Iconic Makeup Looks To Try This Halloween

5 Iconic Makeup Looks To Try This Halloween

Spooky season is creeping closer...but if that conjures up feelings of dread rather than excitement, don’t fret! We know figuring out the perfect costume can be stressful, not to mention expensive, but it doesn’t have to be and we’re here to prove it!

If you’re on a tight budget or just not into extravagant costumes, these 5 looks are easy to achieve, look great on everyone and let the makeup do all the heavy lifting.

1. Clowns
A Halloween classic, you can never go wrong with a good old-fashioned clown. Take inspiration from The Joker or Pennywise or freehand your own iteration of the iconic look - either way, all you’ll need is a bit of white face paint, some coloured eyeshadows, a red lipstick, maybe some green hair dye and voila! A clown is born!

2. A Bratz Doll
We’re throwing it back to one of our favourite viral makeup challenges for this one. Does anyone else remember the Bratz Challenge that took over our feeds in early 2019? In addition to a healthy dose of nostalgia, the trend provided us with a plethora of easy-to-follow tutorials on how to achieve that iconic wide-eyed, juicy-lipped Bratz look. Check out one of our faves here!

3. Euphoria
While we’re talking iconic, Y2K inspired makeup, we can’t forget to mention Euphoria. The show hit our screens in 2019 and promptly went viral for its stunning makeup looks (as well as its supremely talented cast). If you’re going cute rather than scary, Maddy’s diamonte studded glam is the perfect option.

4. Corpse Bride
It wouldn’t be a Halloween round-up without a Corpse Bride look! This classic costume is the perfect mix of creepy and cute, landing somewhere around weirdly endearing? Either way, it’s super easy to achieve! Just grab some light blue face paint and some darker blue eyeshadows, in addition to your normal makeup essentials (mascara, eyeliner, etc.) and you’re good to go!

5. 60s theme
Finally, the ultimate last-minute Halloween look - a gal from the 60s! We’re talking lots of liner, big lashes, a nude lip and blown-out hair. Is it scary? No. But it’s fun and looks amazing every time. And for a last-minute look, you really can’t go wrong.
